1.00Best Place to buy ceramic tiles and Hardwood floor Online or Store?
Q.Hello everyone. I am remodeling my house that just purchased with ceramic tiles for the kitchen and basement and hardwood floor for the rest. Does anybody knows where is the cheapest place to buy ceramic tiles and hardwood floors online or store close to Chicago west suburbs. Answers from builders, construction people, contractors would be highly appreciated.
By asking for the cheapest place does not mean i am going to get the cheapest tiles or hardwood. I just want a main place with wide selection with cheap prices. If i get it online will not buy it without sample.
i asked this on Yahoo US
A.When purchasing hardwood flooring, I would suggest you see it in person..you need to check the quality and buying it locally you are helping out your economy but you can have a guarantee you can count on too. There are big differences in hardwood, so seeing the different finishes..finding out if the wood is local..how it was dried..important things you need to know...cheapest does not always mean a good deal/value..talk to the pros and find out what you need to know about hardwood flooring..and choosing tile colours on line..you might be disappointed..the colours might not be the same because of computer differences etc..it will pay in the long run to do some leg work..this is a big investment and you want to be happy with it for a long time.

Choosing A Hardwood Flooring Contractor
Installing a hard wood flooring is not necessarily a complex process and in the hands of the right Jacksonville area contactor can be quite simple and efficiently done. Once you decide on the kind of wood that you want for your flooring, decide if you want further designs or finishes to your floors. Wooden floorings these days aren't just plain and no frills -- they have borders, and come in a variety of finishes. For instance, you can choose to have a stunning medallion in the middle of the room or maybe a distressed finish or inlay that will add to the charm of the floor. Does your Jacksonville area contractor have the right kind of experience for the job?
Make sure your Jacksonville, FL area hardwood flooring contractor is licensed to practice in your state, and has accreditation from the proper associations in his niche. The hardwood flooring contractor you're considering must be professional, and his company must have a physical brick and mortar address. His workers should be licensed too, and should be neat and professional looking. They should have access to a company van, and should arrive at your home with all the gear necessary for the flooring installation. The contractor and any sub contractors who work under him must be insured. There are no two ways about this. If he is not insured and there is an accident on your property involving one of the workers, you could be held liable for damages.
It goes without saying that your contractor must have a fine reputation in the business. Ask for a list of past clients, and call these people up. If possible, have a look at their homes and the flooring. Ask questions about his character and work ethic - was he punctual? Was he professional? Did he complete the project on time? Did he go over budget with the flooring? Ask your contractor for a written and free estimate for your project. Also ask him for a time frame for the completion of your project. Your Jacksonville, Florida area contractor should inform you about the various stages of the project and the products and material that will be used. He should be able to handle all dust containment systems. He must be able to dispose of byproducts and waste as the result of the flooring project in accordance with industry specifications. He should be able to offer warranties of his work, wherever applicable.
